Role playing game

Watch, play and learn

Learn with KidZania

A fundamental principle that supports the concept of KidZania is the role play: The behavior suggested to the child to develop naturally without any prior learning or adult explanations.

Unlike other activities, children only need to watch an adult do something and then imitate it. Girls pretend to be moms when they play with their dolls or boys act as drivers when they drive a car. In KidZania, children ages 3 to 14 have the opportunity to live experiences as if they were adults in the role of a firefighter, construction worker, police, fashion designer, etc. Role play is essential in the concept of experience. In addition to being a natural tendency in children, it is a universal activity.

It crosses cultural and geographical borders. The toys that children use to simulate role-playing games are practically the same all over the world. Any child in Mexico, Japan, Egypt or the United States uses a toy car to pretend that he can drive, tea cups to offer parties or a briefcase to play doctors.

The role play also exceeds time limits. The oldest toy in the world is a doll made of clay from a grave in Pantelleria, Italy. A doll is one of the best examples of the role-playing game since it allows a girl to pretend she is a mother in the care of her son. The KidZania concept has taken this permanent behavior and elevated the role play to its maximum expression.

In KidZania the role play is a guided activity according to a social script that follows a predetermined story under the supervision of a KidZania collaborator. These “Zupervisors” are well-prepared people and actively engaged in preparing the content of each activity and guide the actions of children from beginning to end.
